Personal Life
Born to
Alexander Beaton Ferguson, a plater's helper in the shipbuilding industry, and
his wife, Elizabeth (née Hardie),[8] Alex Ferguson was born at his
grandmother's home on Shieldhall Road, Govan, on December 31, 1941, but grew up
in a tenement at 667 Govan Road which has since been demolished where he lived
with his parents as well as his younger brother Martin.[9]
He attended
Broomloan Road Primary School and later Govan High School,[10][11] and
supported Rangers.

Retirement
He retired
in the 2013 of the institution of Manchester United after 27 years old of being
trainer of the team.
On May 8th,
2013, Ferguson announced that he was going to be retired as manager at the end
of the football season, but would remain at the club as a director and club
ambassador.
